Vietnamese Search Support

Mini CMS includes built-in support for Vietnamese accent-insensitive search.

How It Works

When content is indexed, Vietnamese diacritics are normalized:

• tìm kiếm becomes tim kiem
• điện thoại becomes dien thoai
• công nghệ becomes cong nghe

This means you can search using either accented or unaccented text and get the same results.

Example

Searching for "tim kiem" will find content containing "tìm kiếm" and vice versa.

Supported Characters

The normalizer handles all Vietnamese characters including:

• Vowels with tone marks (a, e, i, o, u, y)
• Special characters (d with stroke)
• All five tone marks (acute, grave, hook, tilde, dot below)
